MVP declares himself as the New United States Champion

The much awaited PPV Extreme Rules Horror Show takes place today and many New Champions crowned on the event. But some interesting thing happened on the show.
The Match announced between the MVP and Apollo Crews for the US Title didn’t take place today. Before the match Tom Philips announced that the Apollo Crews unable to compete the match tonight due to injury. Crews was at Performance Center tonight but didn’t clear physical to compete the match with MVP.
Crews has bulging disc in his back after the attack of Full Nelson from Bobby Lashley on Raw. Crews has not appeared on RAW since the June 29 episode, which is where the Lashley attack took place.
Tonight on Extreme Rules a segment took place where MVP and Bobby Lashley came out and jokes about the Crews injury. Then MVP declares himself as the New United States Champion by forfeit. He took the Championship from ringside and displayed the New Title. But there is no official announcement that MVP as New Champion and WWE still says Crews is still United States Champion.
There is no word yet on why he is currently out of action, but it’s believed that the back injury is just a part of the storylines. There is no word yet on if Crews is out for reasons related to COVID-19.
