Top matches for WWE WrestleMania 36

The WWE Championship match for WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, Florida is confirmed and two other matches are likely to happen, based on what has been reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and the storyline that closed out this week’s Monday Night Raw.

This week on Raw, Drew McIntyre said that he would be challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship. Their feud officially kicked off when Lesnar attacked McIntyre after his handicap match with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Later in the show, Charlotte Flair went out for a promo segment to talk about her win at the Royal Rumble. At WrestleMania, Flair said she will challenge for a championship but she did not say which title. After she said this, she was interrupted by The Kabuki Warriors and that led to Flair vs. Asuka in a singles match that ended in a DQ.

As noted earlier, the plan for the Raw Women’s Championship match is for Becky Lynch to defend against Shayna Baszler. Also, the current plan is not for Bayley to defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Flair. So, that only leaves the NXT title, currently held by Rhea Ripley.

Another big match scheduled for WrestleMania is Edge vs. Randy Orton. That feud kicked off when Randy Orton walked out during Edge’s segment to attack him.
