Show: WWE Friday Night SmackDown
Location: Mullett Arena on the campus of Arizona State University
This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown was full of chaos, betrayal, and shocking moments that have reshaped the blue brand heading into WWE Crown Jewel 2025. From Jade Cargill’s jaw-dropping heel turn to Drew McIntyre’s brutal statement, the night proved why SmackDown remains the hottest show in WWE.
🔹 Cody Rhodes & Jimmy Uso Kick Off SmackDown
The night opened with Cody Rhodes and Jimmy Uso in the ring, addressing last week’s events involving Jacob Fatu.
Jimmy thanked Cody for sticking up for Fatu, saying he appreciates Rhodes’ respect for the family. Cody responded that it was no problem but questioned Jimmy’s relationship with Main Event Jey Uso, hinting that the tension between the twins might not be over.
Before they could continue, Drew McIntyre appeared on the titantron, warning Cody that “helping The Bloodline never ends well.”
🔹 My Family Tree Def. Shinsuke Nakamura & Rey Fenix
In the first match of the night, Solo Sikoa’s My Family Tree (Solo Sikoa & Tonga Loa, with Jacob Fatu absent after last week’s attack) defeated Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Fenix in a hard-fought tag bout.
Solo ended the match with a Samoan Spike to Fenix, followed by a post-match warning that the “family’s dominance is only beginning.”
Backstage afterward, Solo hinted that they still don’t know who attacked Jacob Fatu last week — but promised “revenge is coming.”
🔹 Tiffany Stratton Def. Kiana James — Jade Cargill Turns Heel!
Tiffany Stratton picked up an impressive victory over Kiana James in a showcase of SmackDown’s rising stars.
However, the celebration didn’t last long. Giulia and Kiana James launched a post-match assault on Tiffany — until Jade Cargill stormed down to make the save.
Just when it looked like Jade was aligning with Tiffany, she turned heel, hitting Stratton with Jaded and standing tall with a smirk.
The WWE Universe was left stunned as Jade Cargill officially turned on the fans, declaring later in a backstage promo:
“No one’s on my level — not Tiffany, not Giulia, not anyone.”
🔹 Ilja Dragunov Def. Aleister Black — Retains the United States Title
In a brutal, high-intensity match, Ilja Dragunov defended his United States Championship against Aleister Black.
Both men unleashed a war of strikes and submissions before Dragunov sealed the win with Torpedo Moscow.
After the bell, Damian Priest appeared from the crowd and attacked Aleister Black, leaving him laid out with a South of Heaven chokeslam — possibly setting up a new feud heading into November.
🔹 Nia Jax Fires a Warning at Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss
In a backstage interview, Nia Jax delivered a scathing message aimed at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions — Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
Nia stated:
“They’re not real friends — just two egos waiting to explode. I’ll be watching closely to see which one stabs the other in the back first.”
This continues to tease a potential split or feud involving the Women’s Tag Team Champions.
🔹 Drew McIntyre Def. Jimmy Uso (No Disqualification Match)
The night’s main event saw Drew McIntyre face Jimmy Uso in a No Disqualification Match, a brawl that quickly spilled out of the ring.
McIntyre used steel chairs, kendo sticks, and even the announce table to punish Jimmy. Despite a few moments of comeback, Jimmy couldn’t overcome Drew’s relentless aggression.
McIntyre won after a Claymore Kick through a table — but the punishment didn’t stop there.
Drew continued attacking Jimmy post-match until Cody Rhodes rushed out to make the save.
However, Drew reversed a Cross Rhodes attempt and nailed Cody with another Claymore Kick, standing tall over both men as SmackDown went off the air.
