Brock Lesnar Reportedly Has Backstage Heat In WWE For Going Off-Script At Royal Rumble 2023
The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar entered the 30-Man Royal Rumble as the 12th participant in the match, eliminating several superstars before being eliminated by his current rival Allmighty Bobby Lashley. The former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar elimination sparked an unscripted outburst, causing Lesnar to throw the hood of the announce table into the ring, bang a steel step onto the table, and even attack a referee at ringside. This unplanned behavior has caused concern among WWE executives and led to Lesnar facing heat behind the scenes.
According to Fightful Select reports, some of the spots that Brock Lesnar did were not planned, and caught a few people by surprise. The people in the ring and at ringside weren’t expecting the stairs spot and weren’t prepared for it. Brock Lesnar throwing the hood into the ring was also not planned.
A source told to Fightful that Lesnar’s outburst was unplanned and caused concern, especially when he threw referee Eddie Orengo over the barricade. Fightful was informed that it initially looked like Orengo sustained a foot injury, but his status is currently unknown.. Lesnar was known for his unpredictable behavior, but this latest incident has raised concerns within the WWE.
This report also further noted that WWE had plans for Eddie Orengo to raise Cody Rhodes’ hand after he had won the Royal Rumble match, but that had to be changed when the former had to sell the attack. Fightful was informed by a source and confirmed that Lesnar will not be released or punished for going off-script.
“Heat is a relative term for Brock Lesnar. He’s not going to get in trouble. He’s certainly not going to be fired like Cryme Tyme was. It’s a new regime, new rules, and I’m not sure anyone involved was mad or not, but some people backstage were,” said the source.
Edge Teases Epic Showdown with Top WWE Superstar

In a surprising turn of events, Edge made his return to professional wrestling in 2020 after a hiatus of nine years. The Rated R Superstar returned at Royal Rumble 2020 and also became the last three in the Rumble match. The following year, Edge went on to have a highly anticipated rivalry with Randy Orton, cementing his status as one of the greatest superstars in WWE history.
Similar to the Rated R Superstar Edge, The Celtic Warrior Sheamus also fought a life-threatening injury after his partnership ended with The Bar. The 11-time World Champion Edge recently sent a message to Sheamus and also teased a major singles match against the Sheamus in the near future.
“Well right now I’m alone in The Hall of Won It All. I get lonely. Win that IC and we can have a chat Ronnie, whoops, Sheamo. Bout time we have a good old fashioned, grizzled 1 on 1 match.”
