Karrion Kross signed with WWE in 2020 and was pushed to the top in NXT. Kross became the NXT Champion just a few months after signing with the company and also called up to the main roster on July 19, 2021. He was given a new gimmick without Scarlett and lost his debut match. Later he was released in November.
According to the Fightful Select reports, The Head of Creative Triple H was “dismayed” at how Karrion Kross was booked when he was called up to the main roster last year. Kross and Scarlett were reportedly contacted to return on August 1 and within couple of days they appeared on Friday Night SmackDown.
Before Kross return to WWE, he worked for several other promotions, including MLW and NJPW, and was also on the card of Ric Flair’s final match where he faced Davey Boy Smith Jr.
On the last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Karrion Kross made a surprise return to WWE along with Scarlett and attacked Drew McIntyre. Then, he set his sight on Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
