Originally, Roman Reigns scheduled to face Goldberg at WrestleMania 36 in 2020 but due to pandemic Reigns pulled out of the match due to his past battles with leukemia. Finally this match is set to take place after two years at Elimination Chamber 2022.
WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg made a surprise return on February 4th episode of Friday Night SmackDown and challenged Tribal Chief Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship, and WWE made it official for Elimination Chamber.

In the most anticipated match, Roman Reigns defeated Goldberg via submission and successfully retained his Universal Championship. At the closing moments, Goldberg hits a spear to Roman Reigns and went for Jack Hammer. But Reigns escaped and went for Guillotine lock till Goldberg fades out.
