The former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai and NXT Superstar Dakota Kai are among four NXT stars reportedly set to appear at the upcoming Friday Night SmackDown tapings.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider reporting that Io Shirai and Dakota Kai will be at backstage for the next episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
They both stars will be accompanied by LA Knight and Roderick Strong, who worked a dark match against each other before the last week’s WWE SmackDown. They also worked on Main Event, which were taped at the same time.
Shirai and Kai just the latest in a stars for the main roster call-ups from the black-and-gold era of NXT. Recently, Pete Dunne and former NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa also worked Main Event tapings and SmackDown dark matches, hinting at their potential debut for blue brand.
