The Boss Sasha Banks originally set to challenge Bianca Belair for Smackdown Women’s Championship at Summer Slam 2021. But at Summer Slam, WWE announced that Sasha Banks wasn’t cleared to compete and Carmella will replace her to challenge Belair.

Later, Becky Lynch made a shocking return to WWE and took out Carmella, then, challenged Belair for the title. Becky Lynch defeated Bianca Belair in 27 seconds and won the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Now, we got some details about Sasha Banks missing Summer Slam 2021.
According to the Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Sasha Banks wasn’t cleared to compete at Summer Slam. It was also noted that WWE backstage hopeful that Banks will be back soon. 

WWE sources indicated this mornin to Fightful that Sasha Banks wasn’t cleared to compete last night, but they’re hopeful she will be back soon.

It was also added that Sasha Banks was not backstage at the Allegiant Stadium, the venue of Summer Slam and Banks missing the event isn’t part of a storyline. Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer Radio reported that they have known for eight days that Sasha Banks won’t be competing at WWE Summer Slam 2021.
“It happened because Sasha Banks wasn’t going to be ready and they felt that they needed something to quell the audience,” Meltzer said on WOR. “They’ve known for eight days that Sasha Banks wasn’t going to be there.” 
Now, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that The Boss Sasha Banks never made it to Las Vegas for Summer Slam weekend even though she advertised for the pay-per-view. Banks missed several live events due to uncunforeseen circumstances and her absence is not injury related but actual reason is still unknown.
“PWInsider.com has been told by WWE sources that the Banks situation is not an injury issue,” wrote Johnson.
