The former NXT Champion Samoa Joe was one of the major name released by WWE back in April along side Micike James and Billie Kay. From the past few weeks, there were many rumors surrounding around the Samoa Joe’s possible return to WWE.
Recently, Fightful Select reported that Samoa Joe spotted at WWE Performance Center and several pitches made for him to use him in NXT but there is no clear information about the role. But now, we got update about his role in NXT.
“UPDATE: In an update on this story, officials in NXT have confirmed that Samoa Joe was briefly at the WWE Performance Center this week. We were not told why he was there. We did get confirmation there have been pitches within NXT to use Samoa Joe, however.”
Now, there are many reports emerged that Samoa Joe might be using as authority figure in NXT. At NXT Takeover: In Your House show, William Regal stated that it’s time for change and that lead to speculation that he might be wrapping his position as General Manager.

On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Samoa Joe might get the William Regal like a role in NXT. It was also noted that Samoa Joe taken the job in NXT and he’s definitely doing something on WWE TV or behind the scenes.
“So, I think that’s the cue for Samoa Joe. I don’t know that 100%. I was told today that Samoa Joe was gonna be in a Regal-like role, then all of a sudden Regal’s talking like he’s stepping down, so maybe the Regal-like role is Regal’s role. But if he’s leaving, based on what I was told, Samoa Joe was definitely the favorite to be the new Commissioner. But Joe is in, and he’s in as a non-wrestler, so I think that tells you that he’s not cleared.”
