WWE’s Triple H and AEW’s Tony Khan have been competing to secure top talent from around the world for their respective promotions. A recent report reveals that both WWE and AEW have offered contracts to the agent of The Motor City Machine Guns.
The Motor City Machine Guns, considered one of TNA Wrestling’s best tag teams, consist of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, who have been part of the promotion for many years. Now, as free agents, they are exploring new opportunities.
According to PWN, WWE and AEW have made contract offers to the team’s agent. While a final decision has yet to be made, the report suggests that The Motor City Machine Guns are leaning towards joining WWE, potentially aligning with Triple H’s leadership.
Alex Shelley previously had three matches for WWE’s developmental brand under Triple H’s regime. Meanwhile, The Motor City Machine Guns competed for Tony Khan’s All Elite Wrestling in 2022. It will be interesting to see where the team lands in the coming months.
Last year, DIY reunited on the main roster when Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano joined forces to take down Imperium. The duo eventually moved on to different feuds on the brand before heading to Friday Night SmackDown.
After the annual draft, DIY feuded with Austin Theory and Grayson Waller for the newly introduced WWE Tag Team Championship. Ciampa and Gargano eventually captured the title in Toronto, just before Money in the Bank.
On the recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown, the team successfully defended their title in a rematch. After the match, Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline attacked both teams to make a statement.
After winning the title, Ciampa added a story on Instagram and seemingly teased The Motor City Machine Guns’ arrival in the Stamford-based promotion. It’ll be interesting to see what the champions do next on the brand.
