WWE Draft 2021 kicked off on recent edition of Friday Night SmackDown and will continue on next week’s Monday Night Raw. Now, we got the some backstage details about the WWE Draft 2021.
PWInsider reported that WWE told superstars about their draft status on the same day shortly before the official announcement. This was done to make sure the superstars wouldn’t be caught off guard.
In the past, WWE usually inform only top superstars ahead of changing their brands and other talent would find out about their brand switches at the same time as fans.
In the Night 1 of WWE Draft, SmackDown and Raw retained their respective brand champions, Roman Reigns and Big E. Then, SmackDown bagged Raw Women’s champion Charlotte Flair, Drew McIntyre and Jeff Hardy. Meanwhile, Raw got former SmackDown Women’s champion Bianca Belair and WWE Hall of Fame Edge. More big names will be drafted to Raw and SmackDown on the Night 2 of Draft on Monday.
