WWE recently released several NXT Superstars that includes some unexpected names like Bronson Reed, Bobby Fish, Mercedes Martinez and more. Now, we got the some backstage details about the release of former NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed.
Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that WWE Chairman Vince McMahon gave up on Bronson Reed to bringing him up to main roster after his recent tryout matches. Then, McMahon felt that it’s pointless to keep him if he’s not going to be on main roster and let him go. This same attitude was the primary justification for the other releases, as well.
”Those internally said that when Reed got his tryout matches in recent weeks, that McMahon decided against him, and felt due that if he’s not going to be on the main roster, what is the point of keeping him,” said Meltzer.
Bronson Reed is one of the talented superstar and he have lot of options after his non-compete clause. Dave Meltzer also stated that he would be a good pick for AEW but the problem is that a lot of talented stars didn’t getting a lot of TV time.
”A player in Impact, and with AEW, he’d be a good pick up but the question is how many people can AEW add to a roster where so much good talent really isn’t getting a lot of television time,” said Meltzer.
Recently, Bronson Reed posted a cryptic tweet following his release, in which he stated that he wants to face AEW TNT champion Miro. So, it seems that he’s interested to join the All Elite Wrestling after completion of 30-day non-compete clause.
