After shocking return at Money In The Bank PPV, John Cena appeared on WWE Raw and also on tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown. He also challenged Roman Reigns for Universal Championship at WWE Summer Slam.
But on the final segment of tonight’s Smackdown, Roman Reigns repsonded to the challenge and clearly stated that his answer is no. Then, former Universal Champion Finn Balor came out and laid a challenge to Reigns for his title. Roman Reigns also accepted Finn’s challenge but WWE didn’t revealed date and location of this match.

After Smackdown goes off air, John Cena wrestled his first match after 16 months. He teamed up with Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio to battle Roman Reigns and The Usos. This match ended with John Cena and The Mysterios picking up the win.

John Cena’s last wrestled on WWE TV against Bray Wyatt in Firefly Fun House Match at WrestleMania 36, in which he lost. Since then he wasn’t seen on WWE and returned back to Money In The Bank 2021 PPV.
