Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw is live from WWE ThunderDome at Yuengling Center at Orlando, Florida. It’s a Hell In A Cell go-home edition of Smackdown and WWE announced packed card that includes huge Hell In A Cell match.
Following official announcement of Hell In A Cell Universal Championship Match, Rey Mysterio can’t wait for Sunday and proposed that match for Smackdown and Roman Reigns also accepted it. It was official that Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Title against Rey Mysterio inside Hell In A Cell on tonight’s show.
Shinsuke Nakamura and King Corbin feud from the past few weeks after Nakamura stealing Corbin’s crown. Tonight, King Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura will battle in singles match with crown on line. WWE also announced that Big E and Kevin Owens will team up to face Intercontinental Champion Apollo Crews and his Commander Azeez in tag team match.
Here The WWE Friday Night Smackdown Full Matches And Results With Short Review:
– Tonight’s Smackdown opened with Smackdown Tag Team Champion Rey Mysterio making his way to the ring. He see the Hell In A Cell cage and enters the ring. Rey says any parent watching knows his feeling – feeling of pain, hurt and sadness. He says he told his son Dominik Mysterio about the risk of competing in the ring and this was, or is his dream, but thankfully he is walking.
Rey says he wasn’t sure when his son will be back to the ring. Rey gets emotional and talks about Roman Reigns attacking Dominik Mysterio last week. He says he will never forget the sound and helpless look his son had in his eyes as he suffered in pain. Rey says he will never forget the man who did this to his son. Fans boos the Roman Reigns name.
Rey Mysterio says he can’t wait for one more day, he’s ready for the match tonight and ready to get his revenge tonight. Rey says he knows Roman Reigns accepted his challenge on Twitter but he wants to hear from the mouth of so-called Head of the Table. Rey calls out Roman Reigns to get out here. Music hits, here comes the Universal Champion Roman Reigns along with Paul Heyman.
Roman Reigns is on the stage and says he doesn’t want to hurt Rey. He goes on and says it won’t be his fault. Rey doesn’t want to be locked inside cell with him and it won’t be PG tonight. Reigns once again asks to Rey – are you sure you want to do this? Rey says he’s more than ready. Reigns says he’s tried to do it in Rey’s way, he tried to be diplomatic but now we will do it his way. Roman Reigns makes his way to backstage.
– Commander Azeez and Apollo Crews defeated Kevin Owens and Big E via Pinfall. After the match, Azeez hits Nigerian Nail to Owens. Apollo Crews and Azeez celebrates in the ring while Owens laid down and Sami Zyan laughing at it.
– Shinsuke Nakamura defeated King Corbin via Pinfall and won the crown. After the match, Hamilton announces that the Shinsuke Nakamura is the one true king of WWE and Corbin looks disappointed. Nakamura heads to the stage and sits in the throne and Boogs places crown on Nakamura head. Baron Corbin seemingly crying now while Nakamura continued celebrations.
– Smackdown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair makes her way to the ring to face-off Bayley before their match at Hell In A Cell Pay-Per-View. Belair talks about Bayley and how she will retain her title at Hell In A Cell event. Belair now calls out Bayley but she didn’t show up.
Belair says Bayley’s games almost work because it’s rough when someone laugh at your face. Belair says she almost felt like a little girl who was back with her bullies again. But she’s not a little kid anymore and doesn’t let anyone think of her define her. Bianca wanted to say this on the Bayley’s face that she not only wanted her in the ring but also inside Hell In A Cell.
Music hits, here comes the Bayley and they both started brawling. Bayley kicks Belair and tries to throw her to floor but Belair counters and hits Bayley to floor. Then, Belair sends Bayley to the annouce table and she goes down. Belair tosses Bayley over the barrier, Bayley comes back and caught her hair and hit her to barrier. Bayley brings back Belair to the ring and hits Rose plant in the middle of the ring. Bayley takes the Smackdown Women’s Championship and raises high and Bayley’s face appeared all over the ThunderDome screens.
– We got the video package of tensions between Roman Reigns and The Usos. Roman Reigns is in his locker room and Jimmy Uso comes in. They both greets eachother. Jimmy thought about what’s Reigns said last week, about representing family and being the best. Jimmy says Reigns is right but he doesn’t agree everything with Roman Reigns but they are blood, family. Reigns asks where is Jey Uso is.
Jimmy says he tried to call and text, stop by his house but nothing happened. Jimmy says if Reigns needs his help he would be there for him. Reigns says no to Jimmy and says him to find Jey. Reigns says Jimmy needs Jey and their family is better when they compete. Reigns tells Jimmy to don’t worry about tonight as it was a usually business but he wants Jimmy to find Jey.
– Otis makes his way to the ring along with Chad Gable for a match against Angelo Dawkins. But Otis and Chad Gable attacked Dawkins before the match starts and puts him down. WWE officials came out and checks on Dawkins while Otis staring at him.
– Kayla Braxton at backstage with Cesaro and asks that if his rivalry with Seth Rollins has gone far. Cesaro says he doesn’t think it’s gone too far enough and talks about how Rollins stomped his head and put him on stretcher. Cesaro says he worked very hard to get where he’s at and Rollins tried to take it all away from him.
Seth Rollins interrupts and says that they had match at this Sunday and there’s no reason to fight now. Rollins says he’s a professional and came here to have conversation. He asks Kayla to leave. Rollins talks about how Cesaro doesn’t deserve single ounce of respect and this Sunday he’s going to show what Cesaro does deserve and put him back to his place.
Cesaro says he respects for Seth Rollins being a professional, coming out here and facing him like man-to-man. Cesaro respects what Rollins said, and respects Rollins as a competitor. Cesaro thenz pushes Rollins over in his chair and says he will see him on Sunday. Cesaro walks off as Rollins back to his feet and seething.
– Roman Reigns defeated Rey Mysterio via submission in Hell In A Cell match and successfully retained his Universal Championship. After the match, Jimmy Uso came out and raises Roman Reigns hands. They stare at Rey Mysterio who is getting on his feet, Reigns was angry and applies submission move on Rey once again. Rey is down and Reigns yells at Rey Mysterio and Smackdown goes off air.
