Aleister Black is one of the major recently released by the WWE. It was a big shocker for the fans as he recently returned back to WWE TV with cryptic promos and seemingly started feud with Big E after attacking him during IC Title match.
But unexpected the former NXT Champion got released by WWE due to budget cuts. Now, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported that Aleister Black had issues with writing staff. However, it was also noted that the main reason for Aleister Black and Buddy Murphy releases is Vince McMahon didn’t understand their style of wrestling.
”In the case of Black (Tom Budgen, 36, also known as Tommy End), there were issues with the writing staff but in the end, he and Murphy were both wrestlers where Vince McMahon was said to not understand their style of wrestling. There is no word on if these cuts will affect talks to bring his wife, Thea Trinidad Budgen back, which was the idea last week,” Meltzer stated.
Following his release, Aleister Black appeared on Thea Trinidad’s Twitch channel and addressed his release. He also stated that Vince McMahon is very positive about him and had good relationship with WWE Boss.
Dave Meltzer also stated that it was the WWE Chairman Vince McMahon who will take the final call about the WWE releases.
”Tom Budgen went on a diatribe after where he looked incredibly foolish. He did the same bit about how it wasn’t Vince McMahon, who liked him, not realizing it was McMahon who made the firing decisions,” Meltzer added.
